Not Sure Whether This Approach Is Right For You?

Many people come to us feeling uncertain — about medication, diagnosis, or whether psychiatric support is even what they need right now.

That uncertainty is often the starting point, not a problem to solve quickly.

Uncertainty Is Common — and Often Sensible

People who have been in mental health systems for a long time are often asked to make important decisions too quickly — about diagnoses, treatments and long-term plans.

We don’t believe clarity comes from rushing decisions. It usually comes from slowing down enough to understand history, context and meaning before action.

This page is here to help you reflect, not to push you towards a particular outcome.

This Approach Often Helps People Who…

This way of working tends to suit people who recognise themselves in some of the following.

  • are questioning long-term psychiatric medication or diagnosis

  • want to reduce medication carefully rather than abruptly

  • value understanding and reflection alongside clinical expertise

  • are open to shared decision-making, not being told what to do

  • want support that considers the whole picture, not just symptoms

This May Not Be the Right Fit If…

Being clear about limits is part of responsible care.

  • you are looking for rapid or unsupported medication changes

  • you want a purely protocol-led or medication-first approach

  • you are currently in acute crisis and need urgent or emergency care

  • you are seeking certainty before reflection or exploration

How Decisions Are Made Here

We don’t assume that medication is always the problem — or always the solution.

Any discussion about diagnosis, treatment or safe deprescribing takes place within a careful psychiatric assessment that considers your history, context, nervous system and current stability.

Not everyone who enquires is advised to reduce medication.

When changes are considered, they are gradual, collaborative and guided by clinical judgement and safety.

Our role is not to direct your life, but to support informed choice with responsibility.

Still Unsure?

If you’re not ready to take action, you may find it helpful to reflect a little further before deciding what support, if any, feels right.

Deprescribing decisions are always individual and made collaboratively. Medication changes are only considered following a full psychiatric assessment and are tailored to clinical need and safety.
