Gain Clarity. Reclaim Focus. Define ADHD on Your Own Terms.

Do you often feel scattered, overwhelmed, or like you’re constantly “behind” — even when you’re trying your best? Have you spent years wondering whether ADHD might explain your experience, but never received a clear answer?

At The Holistic Psychiatry Clinic, we offer specialist, in-depth ADHD assessment for adults. But more importantly, we offer understanding — on your terms. Whether you strongly identify with the ADHD label or are simply exploring your options, we create a safe space to explore, learn, and grow.

ADHD: Diagnosis or Social Framework?

ADHD assessments at the Holistic Psychiatry Clinic London

ADHD means different things to different people.

For some, it’s a diagnosis that brings profound relief and clarity — a way to understand years of struggle. For others, it can feel like an oversimplified label that doesn’t fully capture the richness or context of their lived experience.

We acknowledge that ADHD is both a medical construct and a cultural conversation. While we follow formal diagnostic standards, we also invite you to consider what the label means for you — and whether it serves your healing and growth.

Some researchers and thinkers argue that ADHD is not a discrete neurological disorder, but a way society interprets (and often pathologises) certain attention patterns, sensitivities, and learning styles. We hold space for this viewpoint too — because you deserve informed choice, not imposed identity.

Our Clinical Framework

We use recognised international standards to ensure you receive a valid, ethical, and structured assessment:

  • DSM-5 (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders – 5th Edition)

  • ICD-11 (International Classification of Diseases – 11th Revision)

  • Royal College of Psychiatrists ADHD Guidelines (UK)

  • NICE Guidelines for ADHD assessment and treatment in adults (UK context)

However, we don’t let checklists dictate the outcome. We interpret them in the context of your story, challenges, strengths, and goals.

The Royal College of Psychiatrists emphasises the importance of comprehensive assessment — not just symptom scoring. That’s exactly what we offer.

Why Get Assessed?

ADHD assessments at the Holistic Psychiatry Clinic London

Receiving a diagnosis can help you:

  • Understand your mental patterns and emotional regulation

  • Access tailored support or coaching

  • Make sense of past academic, work, or relationship difficulties

  • Rebuild your self-concept with compassion

  • Discover tools that fit your brain, not someone else’s

Still, diagnosis is just the beginning. In many cases, what you do with that knowledge matters far more than the label itself.

What Makes Our ADHD Assessment Different?

Unlike most providers, we offer in-person ADHD assessments for adults at our Harley Street clinic — in addition to online sessions for those who prefer them.

We also provide:

  • A holistic, human-first approach that considers lifestyle, trauma, and identity

  • The freedom to reflect: our role is to help you make sense of the results, not force a fixed interpretation

  • Optional follow-up to explore what a diagnosis means and how to use it for lasting change

ADHD Assessment and Support for Adults

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you prescribe ADHD medication if appropriate?

Yes, we do. If your ADHD assessment for adults results in a diagnosis and medication is clinically indicated, we can prescribe as part of your care plan. However, we take a holistic, cautious, and collaborative approach — medication is always discussed in the context of your individual needs, lifestyle, and goals.

In many cases, yes. If you’re diagnosed and stable on treatment, we can provide a shared care protocol for your GP to continue prescribing ADHD medication. This depends on your GP’s willingness and local NHS policy. We are happy to communicate directly with your GP and support the transition if appropriate.

Absolutely not. Getting an ADHD diagnosis does not mean you have to take medication. Many adults prefer to explore coaching, lifestyle changes, and self-management strategies — and we support that fully. Our job is to present your options, not pressure you into any one path.

Not at all. In fact, many adults are only diagnosed later in life — often after years of misdiagnosis or coping mechanisms. Whether you’re 25 or 65, it’s never too late to gain insight into how your mind works. We specialise in adult assessments, including those who’ve been overlooked or misunderstood for decades.

Yes, you can. ADHD and autism often co-occur, especially in adults who are only now exploring their neurodivergent traits. If this is relevant to you, we can either incorporate autism screening into your ADHD assessment or arrange a separate, combined neurodevelopmental evaluation.

We offer both. However, we’re proud to be one of the few private clinics offering in-person ADHD assessments for adults at our Harley Street location. If you prefer face-to-face care, we welcome you to our London clinic. Online assessments are also available and follow the same rigorous clinical standards.

Yes. Diagnosis is just the start. We provide ADHD coaching, follow-up consultations, and personalised care plans to help you move forward. You can choose ongoing support based on what you need most — whether that’s medication, coaching, or help navigating your new awareness.

Yes, our assessments include a formal report with diagnosis, relevant background, and tailored recommendations. This can be shared with employers, academic institutions, or other professionals (with your consent) to support accommodations or adjustments.

Begin With Curiosity, Not Labels

Through our structured yet spacious ADHD assessment for adults, you’ll get the clarity and autonomy you need to make your next chapter feel lighter, clearer, and more intentional.
